Management of foreign objects on the surface

When foreign objects get attached to the surface during storage or incorrect usage, a film is formed on the surface, leading to increased contact resistance or defects in the current. We have installed a system to prevent contamination in each step of the process, as well as a clean room for testing and packaging to prevent any foreign objects from getting attached on the surface.

Reveting Caution

  • 1 It is recommended to maintain the space to 0.03~0.1 between Electrical Contact and a mold for Riveting. Depth of casting = [ Low limit of head height for Electrical Contact - (0.03∼0.1) ].The space calculated by the above equation may prevent the detachment of electrical contact and crushing in riveting. If it is detached in riveting, it may be the main cause of temperature elevation and contact resistance failure due to heat generation.
  • 2It must be checked whether the side angle between electrical contact and casting to make precise settlement of electrical contact without shaking.
  • 3The intensity of illumination for the casting floor will be directly reflected to the surface of electrical contact in time of riveting, so it should be prepared the standard for the amount of working and the lapping period for casting.
  • 4 Unfitted corner may cause transformation and crack in Electrical Contact.
  • 5 It should be designed and managed that the hole size of casting (Spring) is to be larger than the foot diameter of electrical contact as such +0.1.

Cases of defects due to errors in Reventing

Case 1)
It was estimated the riveting condition for the Thermostat made by K company with deposition in time of durability test. It had the serious detachment between electrical contact and substitute terminal, so it caused the temperature elevation.
Case 2)
There is also detachment in inspection for the fixing/operating electrical contact of breaker made by L company.
